OPERATIONAL TIPS

1. TV/Wifi: The Treehouse WiFi password is “treehouse123”  with no uppercases or spaces.

2. Ceiling Fans: The ceiling fans are controlled by a double switch located on the far wall, to the left of the fireplace, above the bank of light switches. We recommend keeping the ceiling fans turned on during your stay to allow the air to circulate. Otherwise, the loft may become uncomfortably warm.

3. Heating & Cooling: The treehouse has a heat pump that is the source of the heating/cooling from May through September. The remote control is the large white one in the box with the rest of the remotes. Make sure the controller reads “heat” or “cool” depending on your needs. The fan control can be found by sliding down the front of the remote. From October through April, the treehouse is heated by propane heaters. You can manually adjust the heaters, located next to the dining table and in the master bathroom, to keep the space at a comfortable temperature.

4. Fireplace: The fireplace has a remote control to turn it on/off and to set the fireplace at different levels, depending on your preferences. It can be found with the rest of the remotes.

5. Sound Bar:  There is a sound bar located above the fireplace that you can connect to via Bluetooth. A remote is also available and can be found in the box with the other remotes.

6. Screened-In Porches: The windows for the screened-in porches easily slide up and down as needed.  Please remember the porches are considered an extension of the indoor living space. As with the interior of the treehouse, absolutely no smoking or vaping of any kind is allowed!

7. Master Bedroom:  The bed in the master bedroom is fully adjustable at both the head and foot, and also includes a gentle vibration feature. A handheld controller is provided and can be found bedside for easy access during your stay.

8. Shower: The control panel can be used to adjust the lighting and fans in the shower. Directly below the panel is a knob that lets you select which shower you’d like to use. Unfortunately, a previous guest broke the glass shower door, and the shower unit and parts have since been discontinued. However, the installed shower curtain still provides a comfortable and enjoyable steam shower experience. There is also a seasonal outdoor shower available for use from May through September.

9. Sauna: The control panel for the sauna is located to the left of the door, making it easy to adjust your settings as you settle in. Please note that temperatures are displayed in Celsius, with a maximum setting of 65°C (approximately 150°F). Inside, you’ll also find a built-in sound system, allowing you to enjoy music while you unwind.

10. Jacuzzi: Step 1: Locate the drain plug on the side of the tub and place it securely in the drain. Step 2: On the left side of the tub, next to the shower head, there is a selector knob that allows you to choose the water source – either the shower head or the faucet. Turn the knob to your desired setting. Step 3: To the right of the selector is the water control knob. Turn it on to begin filling the tub. Step 4: Fill the tub to at least a few inches above the jet openings. If the jets are turned on before the tub is properly filled, water may spray out and create a mess. Step 5: Once filled, you’re ready to enjoy the Jacuzzi. On the right side of the tub is the control panel. The power button is located on the far right. Press it to turn the system on, then select your desired features. The button immediately to the left controls the jets, followed by the bubble function. The remaining controls adjust the lighting, radio, and temperature. Please note this is a two-person Jacuzzi. Because the treehouse naturally moves with the surrounding trees, the plumbing is designed to accommodate this movement. As a result, filling may take slightly longer than expected. Excess weight in the tub can sometimes affect the alignment of the system and may cause drainage issues if not used properly.

11. Miscellaneous: A small ironing board can be found beside the cabinet in the bathroom. In the cabinet under the bathroom sink, you’ll find both an iron and a hair dryer. Additional paper towels are stored above the microwave, and garbage bags are located above the refrigerator. A small first aid kit and bandages can be found on the top shelf of the pantry.

12. Privacy Blinds: Please note that Privacy Shades can be found in the living room, bedroom, and bathroom windows. They just might be hiding behind the curtain valances.

13. Hot Tub: We’ve posted the full Hot Tub safety rules above the hot tub, please review them before enjoying. Additionally, please shower before use, keep the cover on when not in use and DO NOT use or add body lotions, soaps, oils, bubbles of any kind as this helps keep the water clean, ph balanced, and the hot tub comfortable for you, and our next guest’s enjoyment.  We’ve also supplied the Treehouse with plastic glassware should you desire your favorite beverage when using the hot tub.  Please DO NOT USE anything glass inside the hot tub or the surrounding deck area as broken glass in a hot tub is extremely dangerous.  Additional towels for the Hot Tub are available.

FIRE SAFETY

1. Fire Extinguisher:  There is a fire extinguisher underneath the kitchen sink.

2. Fire Pit: For your safety, if you plan on building a campfire in the picnic area, we encourage you to avoid foraging for sticks in the woods.  The Maine woods are notorious for ticks and poison ivy, so it’s best to stay on the gravel area. There are numerous roadside stands that sell bundles of camp firewood that you can purchase. Lastly, of course, please practice good fire safety!

3. SMOKING: NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED inside of the treehouse, its screened porches or Hot Tub Room and obviously, do not throw cigarette butts on the ground.

QUIET TIME & NEIGHBORS

We kindly ask that you respect your neighbor’s privacy and only explore around your immediate area.  Also, as sound can carry, we kindly ask that guest be respectful of neighbors and observe quiet hours of 10pm to 7am.
